Birthday Reminder is a standalone freeware app from Dantellian. Its core works without an account or internet access. It can remain in the system tray, search and sort birthdays, and import, export and back up data.

Why Windows warns you

Windows trusts programs that carry a certificate. One costs money every year and takes time to be issued, and Dantellian chose to release this free tool rather than wait. That is why Windows calls the file unknown the first time you run it.

It does not mean anything is wrong with the file. But since you cannot lean on a signature, we publish its SHA-256 instead, so you can check for yourself that what you downloaded is exactly what we built. It sits under Technical details.

About the app

What it does

Forgetting a birthday is rarely deliberate. Birthday Reminder sits in the system tray and speaks up in time for you to do something about it.

The dates are stored locally, in a format you can open and read yourself. Search, sort, import, export and back them up as you please. The app asks for no account and needs no internet. Pull the plug and it carries on.

The reminder can arrive as a Windows notification, a sound, or read out loud into the room.

And if the present is the hard part, you can turn on support for public Steam wishlists and public Humble Choice listings. It is chosen in the installer (the Humble part needs Steam, that is just how it is), and no product keys are stored anywhere.
